About HSSOA

Serving the Houston Soccer Community

The Houston Southwest Soccer Association (HSSOA) serves the high school soccer officials, school administrators, players, coaches and fans in the greater Houston metropolitan areas. We are the Houston Chapter of TASO Soccer Official. Our chapter, together with the Texas Association of Sports Officials (TASO) and the University Interscholastic League (UIL) works to provide high school soccer with some of the best referees in the country. Our chapter has over 300 members that work together as a team to officiate 4A-5A high schools in Houston.

The Houston chapter of high school soccer referees is one of the largest in the state. High school soccer in Houston offers referees the chance to work with some of the most talented teams, coaches and officials in the country. With our season in the winter months, it gives referees the chance to continue to referee at the highest level all year.

Interested in Becoming a Referee?

HSSOA is always looking for referees at all levels of experience. We have training and mentoring programs that allow new referees to learn the various systems of control quickly. Experienced referees are always welcome to join our chapter. While USSF certifications is not necessary to referee through our chapter, USSF certification can be a great help in getting up to speed. For more information on becoming a USSF certified referee, go to the US Soccer Referee Program website or to the South Texas Soccer Referee website.
