2011-2012 Mileage Fees

Due to pending litigation between TASO and UIL, the 2009-2010 1204 is still in effect.
There is now a mileage rate of $0.50 (that's 50 cents) calculated from your house to the site, and back. In the past, most of our wonderful ADs, recognizing the drives in Houston, have previously said that they will pay for 2 cars, and 1 rider fee. Budgets may not allow them to continue this, but be sure to thank them if they do. The rider fee is $10.
To aid the folks that do our checks (this is an incredible amount of work for them), go to maps.google.com, calculate the distance from your home to the playing field. Double it when you write the mileage on the form, and attach a COPY of the website calculation to the form. This will save the folks that do the checks a lot of time.
Mileage Reimbursement - How to decide which referee gets which fee?
When referees are sent to officiate a match, the schools have agreed to pay mileage reimbursements for 2 officials, portal to portal (home address to game site to home address), at the in force UIL mileage rate, plus one rider fee of $10.00. if there are three officials, an official may elect to take the rider fee instead of the mileage reimbursement. The referee crew is encouraged to discuss amongst themselves and determine which member will take the rider fee and indicate that on the sign-in sheet. If the crew cannot come to an agreement, the HSSOA President will mediate.
Mileage fees will be paid to those two referees who have traveled the farthest and the rider fee will be paid to the official living closest to the venue.
Any official who lives less than 20 miles from the venue should put in for the rider fee.
PLEASE NOTE: There is a new fee schedule for 2012 which has been set by UIL, but it will not be in effect due to ongoing legal action between UIL and TASO.
